VISION QUEST
FINDHORN, SCOTLAND, JULY 5 -15 2026
Guide: Annette Beerens and assistant
Your soul belongs to you,
and to the World.
The World can only be complete
if you are fully yourself.
Your soul corresponds with a niche,
a specific place in the great wholeness of Nature.
A radiating spot,
a brilliant potential that is waiting for you
to discover it, explore it, own it.
Your soul belongs to you ,
and to the World.
Like a stone on the riverbed,
a gust of wind in the storm,
a wave in the ocean,
a burning branch in the fire.
Do you feel something deep within calling you to step out, into nature?
Then it’s time! Time to set out on a journey, to meet your true nature, answer an important question within your soul, or mark a transition. The wisdom of Being lies waiting in the rhythms and mysteries of the boundless natural world.
Do you feel a deep longing to immerse yourself in Nature, without luxury, without food, equipped with just a tarp, mat, sleeping bag, journal and water for 4 days and nights? Then join us on this remarkable journey known as the Vision Quest.
I would be honored to guide you on this beautiful journey.

Vision Quest at Findhorn
The Vision Quest area borders the sea with its wild dunes, pine groves, and heathland. The wide white beaches stretch for miles towards Burghead and invite solitary walks. The sea, as the most primal landscape imaginable and the original home of all life, offers a unique setting for reconnecting with that home within you. Seal banks, dolphin and osprey sightings, ebb and flow are among the special features of this landscape. The extensive dune landscape with thousands of “hobbit hills,” pine groves, and sheltered dune valleys allow retreat into silence.
Accommodation
At the nature camping site on the edge of both the dune landscape and the Findhorn Community. We will have the campsite plus spacious Woodland Shelter and kitchen tent (see photo), compost toilets, and cold water shower all to ourselves. Warm showers in the nearby community are available to us on certain days.
We will meet on the first day, July 5th, at 15.00 at the nature camping site at the Woodland Shelter (see photo) with all participants. We have planned it so that you will initially have time to arrive, set up your tent and settle in. Around 18.00 we will offer you a simple dinner. Afterwards at 20.00 we will begin with our first group circle.
July 6th and 7th we will sit in circle to share intentions and talk about the cycles of power according to the Four Directions: East, South, West and North. The insights provided will guide you through creating your unique ceremony during your solo time on the land.
On Wednesday, July 15th, we will end our time together in the morning after a shared breakfast at 10.00.
We will have a group size of maximum 11 participants and offer a few preparatory Zoom sessions beforehand and a follow-up Zoom session in the weeks after the Vision Quest.
If you must refrain from participating for financial reasons alone, please feel free to contact us about this. And we are also available for all your other questions.
The Vision Quest Location
The beaches of the Moray Firth, near Findhorn Bay, enjoy the microclimatic influence of a Gulf Stream branch. Here the sun shines more frequently than in most other places in Great Britain. We are allowed to use the breathtakingly beautiful and wild dune landscape between the Findhorn Community and the sea as the Vision Quest area. This area, established and managed as a nature reserve by the Findhorn Dunes Trust and the Findhorn Hinterland Trust, is wild and pristine. Along this wild coastal section, there will be the opportunity to find a place in the extensive dunes, dotted with pine groves and sheltered dune valleys.
What is the Findhorn Community?
Findhorn, the famous international community that has existed since 1962, is in northern Scotland, approximately 45 km east of the city of Inverness at Findhorn Bay and around the small town of Forres. Findhorn is an international, renowned center for personal and spiritual transformation.
The Findhorn Community, with hundreds of members, is represented in the United Nations as an “NGO” as an exemplary project for the peaceful coexistence of people of all nations, religions, and cultures, in close cooperation with the forces of nature and based on essential spiritual principles.

Important Dates and Travel Information
Citizens of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland can still enter the United Kingdom for up to six months without a visa. Since October 1, 2021, however, a passport is required to enter Great Britain, and from April 2, 2025, a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) must be presented if no other residence permit/visa is already held.
Important, the following is very important to us: There are good options to reach Findhorn by car, in connection with a ferry (for instance: Amsterdam-Newcastle), or by bus and train (e.g., inexpensively via Interrail). However, should you choose the faster option and travel by plane, we request that you commit to compensating the amount of CO² that your flight to Inverness or Aberdeen causes through Atmosfair* or Trees for travel*. For a round-trip flight from Amsterdam, that would currently be, for example, €12, which would then be invested in CO²-compensating projects.
*Atmosfair and Trees for Travel are non-profit organizations with the goal of compensating and reducing climate-damaging greenhouse gases.
